Go To The Market For Yoghurt
Natalie Dellar shown left and Denise Anslow shown
right, recently did the
Muller 10k at Telford and report that they have never had such a
generous goody bag for finishing a race in their lives. In fact they are
still working their way through all the freebie yoghurts that they were
given.
Natalie writes:_
It was BRILLIANT!
"The race is a loop and
goes out of Market Drayton, hits 3 miles at the Muller Dairy Factory and
then back in to Market Drayton town centre. It was very well organized.
The course seems uphill for the first 2 miles, but it was pretty damn
hot so I think it felt worse than it was. The rest of the course is
pretty flat.
I’ve got just about the
best goody bag I have ever had - medal, pen, drinks bottle, chewy bar,
sweat band, cotton t-shirt and the actual bag is one of those drawstring
ones that can be re-used. On top of this you get a free “technical”
breathable T-shirt (seems very good quality and is fluorescent yellow so
good for the darker nights), and as much Muller Yoghurt as you are able
to carry back to the car park with you (we had at least 2 big
“supermarket” sized trays each!). I think the affiliated entry fee for
the race was £6.50. Bargain! There was also loads to do for family,
friends and any other spectators in the area around the finish (Beer
tent, food, games, Muller tasting stall etc)
We were also pleased as
we did it in 1:10 (ever so slightly quicker than the DK race we did
recently. Considering the heat I was amazed when I turned around the
corner and saw that on the clock! I think Brian Smith was there and I
think it was him who snapped me at the finish so I’ll let you know if
any photos of us appear.
So.... based on all
this I would seriously recommend it to the rest of the club to do next
year, it only took me about 40 mins travel each way from Dudley."
